Market Report: May 2015

Volatility in Sterling due to the upcoming election has been over shadowed by the poor string of data coming from the US, where the dollar has been under pressure. The concern now is whether the Fed will delay the expected interest rate rises anticipated which will cause the dollar to weaken further against Sterling and the Euro. The Euro is still impacted by the unresolved issues surrounding the Greek situation. It is widely publicized that several large institutions hold short positions on the Euro looking for parity against the Dollar.
